This is the second layout of Black Diamond, but since the first one was more of a temporary design than anything else, the current one is more sure to stay for a while. The image is from 1934 Alice In Jails - Imprisoned Chapter -. The goal of the design was for a simple, clean yet elegant design that made the content easy to read. Hopefully I've achieved that, or at least something to that effect. And yes, the navigation is like that because this layout was made by someone who didn't think of navigation when creating it; but I think it turned out nicely.
